west is ready

Western Conference Champions - Los Angeles Lakers

the lakers overcame an 8-point deficit in the first quarter to score a total of 100 points against 92 of the former NBA champ - san antonio spurs in the final quarter, making the lakers win the west conference finals. kobe, my man, fired up 17 points in the last quarter to make a total of 39 in the fifth and final game.

Eastern Conference - ???

celtics (3) vs. pistons (2)

God bless the celtics.

the aftermath of game 4

celtics (2) vs. pistons (2)

both teams at two games a piece. getting a 1-1 card at their respective homes. when i saw the encore last night, jaw almost fell on my lap. "what happened???", i said to myself while looking at how the great celtics defense collapsed from the first quarter to last. rondo lost the touch, kg missing in the paint at the time when it could have been the turnaround event. pierce, what's he doing there in the cage? ray just couldn't get easy baskets. ergo, the pistons capitalized on their mess. and they did it with a grin in their faces. rip lived up to his name by ripping baskets all night. he was even compared to one of the greatest clutch shooters in NBA - reggie miller. it was definitely their night.

lakers (3) vs. spurs (1)

now this is what i'm talking about! one more win and their in the finals baby. i haven't watched the game yet, i just logged on the internet and read the game info "play by play". looking at how things went through towards the last few seconds i can say that the luck was pretty much on their side this time. a few seconds before end of 4th manu hit a three-pointer which reduced LA's lead to 4 points. then another lay up from parker that cut the lead down to 2. but then the record shows that spurs got the last position and even threw a hail mary shot but only missed it (which is good by the way). lakers were just damn lucky this time.

cards at 2 - 1 for both east and west finals

celtics (2) vs. pistons (1)

a comeback? the inexperienced celtics won 3rd game at detroit's expense. but ain't over yet, right? i've watched boston celtics' playoffs and i've seen their determination. with kg, ray, paul, and rajon pretty sure the pistons would have a hard time beating their offense as well as their defensive stops. detroit, on the other hand, is missing one of it's top rebounder in ben wallace. mcdyess couldn't get good rebounds himself. chauncey, rip, and tayshaun have good looks on the basket but struggle pretty much in gaining field goals. but then again, they're champions so to speak. and that's their edge against the young celtics.

lakers (2) vs. spurs (1)

homecourt advantage? clearly, this was the thing i had in mind after game 3. kobe, again, trying to be a facilitator than being the regular go-to-guy which is good actually because it keeps the ball moving around. unfortunately, lamar is not quite getting the hype. pau is missing some important tip ins. spurs, on the other hand, got plenty of team rebounds. but the great thing there is that manu's back. yes, he is. struggling in first two games and getting it done in the 3rd - and did it without thinking about his injury. if he continues to play well then the lakers would really have a hard time getting that conference crown.

championship game

i still believe in the LA-Boston fight. it's what i've wanted to happen. and i guess 60% of the fans wanted this one too. but then these two teams should work hard-er to get there. and when that day would come - i believe the duel would be great that it will get to the final game 7. amen.

who's ur pick?

the lakers managed to stay on top from the elimination round to the semis, will they make it to the NBA finals? who's your bet for western conference finals? LA or SA? how about for the eastern conference between Boston and Detroit?

my personal choice is LA and Boston on the finals with cards 4-3 in favor of LA. ;-) i love game 7's. it's a heart attack, don't it?

what about diaz and pacquiao?
